News: 2 dead in crash involving 18-wheeler and pickup on I-30 in Mesquite
The collision near Big Town Boulevard shut down the westbound lanes of I-30 Tuesday morning.
MESQUITE, TX - Two people died following a highway wreck in Mesquite early Tuesday morning, according to a report by NBC DFW.
Authorities said an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck collided on Interstate 30W near Big Town Boulevard at approximately 4 a.m. One person was pronounced dead at the scene while the second victim passed away after being taken to an area hospital.
The accident shut down the westbound lanes of I-30 for at least seven hours for the crash investigation, causing major rush hour delays for drivers on the interstate as well as Highway 80. Motorists were advised to seek alternate routes.
