News: Woman fatally struck by SUV while crossing road in Richardson
The pedestrian was hit by an SUV while walking on N. Collins Blvd. Thursday morning.
RICHARDSON, TX - Police said a woman was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking on a roadway in Richardson Thursday morning.
According to CBS DFW, the accident happened on N. Collins Boulevard near Municipal Drive at about 9 a.m. Investigators said two SUVs, a Ford and a Cadillac, were headed south on N. Collins when the Ford driver tried to turn left onto Municipal Drive from the center lane. The Ford collided with the Cadillac, which was in the left lane.
The impact caused the Cadillac to spin and hit a woman walking westbound. The 63-year-old victim was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital. The Richardson Police Department's Special Crash Investigation team is investigating the accident.
