News: 2 drivers dead following wrong-way collision in Rowlett

Authorities said two vehicles collided head-on on the President George Bush Turnpike near Lakeview Parkway Tuesday.

ROWLETT, TX - A wrong-way crash in Rowlett early Tuesday morning left both drivers dead, according to the Dallas Morning News.


The accident occurred on the President George Bush Turnpike in the vicinity of Lakeview Parkway at about 12:20 a.m.  The Texas Department of Public Safety said the driver of a 1993 Nissan pickup truck was going north in the turnpike's southbound lanes.


The pickup slammed head-on into a 2013 Nissan Altima, and the two drivers were both pronounced dead at the scene.


The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
