Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams was sent to the hospital after the crash at Preston Road at Towne Square Drive just south of the Sam Rayburn Tollway.

PLANO, TX - A car accident in Plano Thursday afternoon sent Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams to the hospital, according to a report by CBS DFW.

Williams was driving a black Corvette south on Preston Road in the area of Towne  Square Drive when the incident took place at about 2:15 p.m.  Police said the driver of a black Infiniti going north was attempting to make a left turn and collided with Williams' car.

Williams and the other driver sustained minor injures and were transported to an area hospital as a precaution.  Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, and no charges were immediately filed.

Williams was a second round pick for the Cowboys in this year's NFL draft.
