Jan 13, 2023

Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams was determined to be partially fault for a December 22nd accident on Preston Road.

PLANO, TX - Police investigating a crash involving Dallas Cowbooys defensive end Sam Williams have now cited the player for reckless driving, a misdemeanor.

KDFW reported on the latest developments in the accident, which took place Dec. 22 on Preston Road in Plano.  Williams was driving a 2021 Corvette when he struck an Infiniti that was trying to make a turn.  He was determined to have been partially at fault for the incident.

Williams and the other driver were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.   Police told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that the speed Williams was driving was a contributing factor in the collision.  Williams was issued a misdemeanor warrant and later resolved the matter with police, according to the report.

The situation was not expected to affect Williams' status for the Cowboys' wild-card playoff game against Tampa Bay Monday night.  He was Dallas's second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
