COPPELL, TX - Police said a speeding driver caused a crash in Coppell Thursday evening that killed two women in another vehicle.

A report by CBS DFW stated that the collision took place at the intersection of West Bethel Road and South Freeport Parkway sometime before 7 p.m.

According to police, a 20-year-old Dallas man was speeding north on South Freeport Parkway while driving a Honda Accord and went through a red light.  The Honda crashed into a BMW sedan that was headed east on West Bethel Road.

Two women in the BMW were killed in the wreck.  They were a 69-year-old Plano resident and a 41-year-old woman from California. The three other occupants of the BMW were hospitalized in stable condition.

The driver of the Honda was arrested and charged with two counts of manslaughter.  He was believed to have been fleeing from another crash when the fatal accident occurred, police said.  It was not believed that drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
