News: Man struck, killed by hit-and-run driver in Denton

The incident happened Thursday night on University Drive near Bell Avenue at about 9 p.m.

DENTON, TX - A pedestrian died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Denton on Thursday night, police said.


KDFW reported the victim was hit by the vehicle on University Drive west of Bell Avenue near Texas Woman's University at about 9 p.m.  The man was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.  No details were released on his identity.


Police are now searching for the driver who left the scene after the crash, and said the vehicle involved was a 2007 to 2009 Hyundai Elantra with front end or side damage.


Anyone with information regarding the case was asked to contact Denton police.
