A driver headed north on the tollway crashed into a vehicle that was stopped near Mockingbird Lane.

DALLAS, TX - The Texas Department of Public Safety said a man driving on the Dallas North Tollway Thursday morning was killed when his car slammed into another vehicle.

A report by NBC DFW said the accident happened as the driver of a Lexus ES was headed south on the tollway at about 5:48 p.m.  The car hydroplaned, struck a concrete barrier, and then collided with a Honda Pilot.  The Pilot, which had been involved in another crash, was disabled and had stopped in the left lane.

The driver of the Lexus, a 45-year-old man from Little Elm, suffered fatal injuries.  No one was in the Honda Pilot at the time of the crash.

The DPS said there is an ongoing investigation into the cause of the wreck.
