News: Truck crashes into creek off Interstate 45 in Ferris, killing driver

The accident happened on I-45 south, where a UPS truck crashed through a barrier near Malloy Bridge Road.

DALLAS COUNTY, TX - A truck accident in Dallas County Friday morning left a driver dead, reports CBS DFW.


The incident took place on Interstate 45 near Malloy Bridge Road in Ferris at about 9:30 a.m.  According to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, a UPS truck pulling two trailers was headed south on I-45 and struck a guardrail.  The truck and trailers went through a concrete bridge barrier and plunged into a creek.


The body of the truck driver was recovered by divers with the Dallas Fire-Rescue unit.  No other injuries were reported.  No details were released on the circumstances that led to the accident.


The two right lanes of I-45 south and the entry ramp from Malloy Bridge Road were shut down while crews were removing the vehicles from the water.
