DALLAS, TX - A woman has been charged in connection with a car accident that killed a Dallas police officer, according to CBS DFW.

The 25-year-old officer was on his way to work late Tuesday night on northbound Spur 408 at West Kiest Boulevard when the crash occurred at about 11:48 p.m.

Police said his vehicle was struck by a sedan going in the wrong direction on Spur 408.  The officer's vehicle was pushed into the right lane, where it was struck by a tractor-trailer before rolling several times.  The police officer was pronounced dead later at an area hospital.

The driver of the wrong-way vehicle, a 31-year-old woman, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.  She was hospitalized in serious condition and had not yet been arraigned.
