News: 2 charged with drunk driving in crash that injured off-duty Dallas police officer

Two vehicles were involved in the crash Thursday morning on the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge at North Beckley Avenue.

DALLAS, TX - An off-duty Dallas police officer was injured in a motor vehicle accident on the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge early Thursday morning.


According to WFAA, police were dispatched to the scene on the bridge at North Beckley Avenue at about 2 p.m.  Investigators determined that two vehicles were involved in a crash, and that collision caused the off-duty officer to be hit in his vehicle.


The officer was hospitalized with what were described as major injuries, and was reported to be in stable condition.  The two drivers involved in the initial crash were arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated.  Both sustained minor injuries.
