The incident began when an off-duty Fort Worth police sergeant driving on Interstate 20 reported seeing someone in a car shooting at a vehicle at about 2:30 p.m.  Police attempted to stop the suspect vehicle at the intersection of I-20 and Mansfield Highway.

According to police, the driver drove away from the attempted traffic stop and crashed into another vehicle in the vicinity of West Kennedale Parkway and North Dick Price Road in Kennedale.

The suspect vehicle rolled over and two people inside were killed.  A third person in the vehicle was hospitalized.  The driver of the vehicle that was struck had injuries that were not life-threatening.  A police officer involved in the chase was transported to the hospital as a precaution.
