News: 3-year-old girl dies in multi-vehicle accident in Terrell

The crash happened Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Texas Highway 205 and Farm-to-Market Road 548.

TERRELL, TX - A multi-vehicle accident in Kaufman County Wednesday afternoon claimed the life of a 3-year-old girl, NBC DFW reports.


Police responded to the area of Texas Highway 205 and Farm-to-Market Road 548 in Terrell after the crash was reported at about 3:41 p.m.  Police said a Lexus E330 sedan had stopped on Highway 205 to make a left turn onto FM 548 when it was rear-ended by a Mazda SUV.


The Lexus spun into oncoming traffic and was hit again by a Honda Pilot SUV.  The 3-year-old was ejected through the rear window of the Lexus and was pronounced dead at the scene.  Police said she was not buckled into her safety seat at the time.


Police shut down the roadway for about two hours for the investigation into the crash.
