News: Child, 6, fatally struck by suspected drunk driver in Grand Prairie

DALLAS, TX - A child was killed Saturday evening when he was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street in Grand Prairie.


According to a report by CBS DFW, the child was attempting to cross into a parking lot in the 2700 block of Regency Drive when he was struck by an oncoming SUV.


The 6-year-old victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.


The driver of the SUV was taken into custody under after showing signs of intoxication at the scene. He has since been charged with intoxication manslaughter.
