News: Police make arrest in fatal hit-and-run crash in Dallas

DALLAS, TX - An arrest has been made in a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of an elderly woman in Dallas last month, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Police said the 82-year-old victim was driving Nov. 7 on Royal Lane near Rosser Road at about 11 a.m. when her vehicle was struck by an eastbound Toyota Avalon that was speeding at the time on Royal Lane.  The victim was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Dallas police announced that they arrested the suspected driver of the Avalon on Wednesday, a 12-year-old boy.  He will be charged with murder.  Investigators said the driver and passengers abandoned the Avalon following the collision and fled the scene on foot.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
